Characteristics
Structural Design: Folding formed by die-cutting and creasing a piece of cardboard without the need for adhesive (some designs require auxiliary glue or snap fasteners for fixation).
A typical structure includes a bottom surface, four side panels (front, rear, left, right), and foldable "wing" tongues (used for sealing).
The common ways of unfolding are "heaven and earth cover" or "left and right insertion".
Convenience: It can be transported and stored flat, and can be quickly folded and assembled during use, saving logistics costs. Suitable for manual assembly or automated production lines.
Printing adaptability: The flat unfolded state facilitates high-precision printing and enables personalized design of full-color logos, patterns, text, and more.
Core advantages
Cost effectiveness: High material utilization rate (single piece cardboard forming), low mold cost, suitable for small and medium-sized batch orders.
Lightweight design reduces transportation costs.
Environmental friendliness: We often use recyclable cardboard (such as white cardboard and corrugated paper), which is in line with the trend of sustainable packaging.
Some designs do not require glue and are more easily degradable
Protective nature: The tight fit between the side panel and the tongue provides basic compressive and impact resistance.
It can be lined with EVA, foam and other cushioning materials to enhance protection (such as electronic product packaging).
Widely used: Suitable for e-commerce, clothing, food, electronic products, cosmetics and other fields, especially for small and medium-sized lightweight goods.
Important parameter characteristics
Material selection: White cardboard (250-400g): High stiffness, suitable for high-quality packaging (such as cosmetics).
Corrugated board (B/C/E flute): with good cushioning properties, used for logistics transportation packaging.
Specialty paper: tactile film, matte/glossy coating enhances visual effects.
size parameter
Inner diameter size: Designed according to the actual size of the product, a tolerance of 1-3mm needs to be reserved.
Outer diameter size: including the thickness of the cardboard (for corrugated paper, the thickness of the corrugated shape needs to be calculated).
Tongue length: usually 1/3-1/2 of the width of the side panel to ensure a secure seal.
Load bearing capacity: The ordinary white cardboard airplane box can bear a weight of about 1-3kg, while the corrugated paper version can reach 5-10kg (depending on the type and number of layers).
Printing process and Certificates
Printing process
CMYK four-color printing: Basic color patterns.
Spot color/hot stamping/UV: Enhance high-end feel.
Embossing: increases the three-dimensional tactile sensation.
Certificates
FSC certification (sustainable forestry source), biodegradable label, etc.
